Hot Apple & Rum Cider is a wonderful cocktail to enjoy during those chilly winter months. It’s easy to whip up a batch and easy to double or triple (or more) the recipe for events.

Hot Apple & Rum Cider

Ingredients

  • 1 cup apple cider

  • 4 oz dark rum

  • 4 oz Cinnamon Schnapps

  • 1 cinnamon stick

  • 1 whole allspice

  • 2 whole cloves

  • 1 star anise

  • 1/4” ginger root, sliced

  • 1/4 orange, sliced

  • Garnish Ideas
  • Cinnamon Stick

  • Orange Slices / Wedges

  • Apple Slices / Wedges

Directions

  • Stovetop
  • Combine all ingredients in a large pot.
  • Stir well & cover.
  • Slowly bring to a boil (stirring occasionally).
  • Once boiling, lower heat and simmer covered for 1 to 2 hours (stirring occasionally).
  • Strain, Garnish, & Serve.
  • Slowcooker
  • Combine all ingredients in slow cooker.
  • Stir well & cover.
  • Cook on LOW for 2 to 3 hours (stirring occasionally).

Notes

  • Don’t use spiced rum. Since it’s already spiced, it will dramatically change the flavor of the cocktails.
