Hot Apple & Rum Cider is a wonderful cocktail to enjoy during those chilly winter months. It’s easy to whip up a batch and easy to double or triple (or more) the recipe for events.
Hot Apple & Rum Cider

1 cup apple cider
4 oz dark rum
4 oz Cinnamon Schnapps
1 cinnamon stick
1 whole allspice
2 whole cloves
1 star anise
1/4” ginger root, sliced
1/4 orange, sliced
- Garnish Ideas
Cinnamon Stick
Orange Slices / Wedges
Apple Slices / Wedges
Directions
- Stovetop
- Combine all ingredients in a large pot.
- Stir well & cover.
- Slowly bring to a boil (stirring occasionally).
- Once boiling, lower heat and simmer covered for 1 to 2 hours (stirring occasionally).
- Strain, Garnish, & Serve.
- Slowcooker
- Combine all ingredients in slow cooker.
- Stir well & cover.
- Cook on LOW for 2 to 3 hours (stirring occasionally).
Notes
- Don’t use spiced rum. Since it’s already spiced, it will dramatically change the flavor of the cocktails.
