Perhaps you’ve ordered a daiquiri at a restaurant and received a gigantic, sweet, thousand calorie monstrosity. That’s not really a daiquiri.

A daiquiri should be both sweet and sour (but can be adjusted to suit your personal taste). It should not be 20 ounces (especially not of mostly sugary mix). A daiquiri is a light, refreshing cocktail that’s under 150 calories (mine’s 134).

Ingredients

  • 1.5 oz Rum, light

  • 3/4 oz Lime Juice, fresh

  • 1/2 oz Simple Syrup

  • Ice

  • Garnish Ideas
  • Lime Twist or Wedge

  • Sugar or Salt Rim

Directions

  • Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker.
  • Shake vigorously until shaker is ice cold.
  • Strain into a glass.
  • Garnish & Enjoy!

Notes

  • An easy way to make your daiquiri even better is to chill your glass.
  • Simple Syrup is so easy to make yourself. In a saucepan, combine equal parts sugar and water. Bring to a boil, stirring until sugar has dissolved. Remove from heat & allow to cool.
